1. The Witcher

For us, the winner is The Witcher, the best suprise of 2007. CDProjekt gave us a memorable rpg inspired by the works of Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski and powered by the BioWare Aurora Engine. It's like Neverwinter Nights but much more action-oriented, but he best aspect of the game is its handling of your decisions and the impact that has on your overall journey.

2. BioShock

If you haven't played this game, you've missed out on one of the best gaming experiences of all time. BioShock is the genetically enhanced first person shooter that lets you do things never before possible in the genre: turn everything into a weapon, biologically mod your body with plasmids, hack devices and systems, upgrade your weapons and craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different battle techniques.

3. World in Conflict

World in Conflict is a real-time strategy game that takes you back to 1989 during a fictional war between the U.S., NATO, and the Soviet Union. It combines fantastic visuals, amazing action, brilliant missions and a very well written story. 2007 was a great year for real time strategy, but we think that World in Conflict was the best one.

4. Crysis

Crysis is a PC sci-fi first-person shooter from the award-winning developer Crytek, the developers of the critically acclaimed Far Cry. It is visually stunning and it's probably one of the best shooters ever made. It's absolutely the winner as best graphics technology.

5. Supreme Commander

Supreme Commander is the first ever RTS to deliver truly strategic as well as tactical gaming with an emphasis on scope as well as ease of use. Set in the 37th Century you command one of three races as the Supreme Commander with a single goal in mind - to end the 1000 year Infinite War and become the reigning power supreme

6. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Mixed with explosive action, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare also delivers amazing special effects, including use of depth of field, rim-lighting, character self-shadowing, real time post-processing, texture streaming as well as physics-enabled effects to enlist players into the most photo-realistic gaming experience. Combined with Call of Duty's award-winning audio design, players will face war as never before.

7. Football Manager 2008

Nobody is probably going to put FM2008 as best game of 2007, but we like soccer games, and Football Manager 2008, the next iteration of the prize-winning Football Manager series developed by Sports Interactive, is the best soccer management game ever created. You may also call it Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 :)

8. Overlord

Not the best game as graphics or plot, but it's extremely fun! Overlord is a groundbreaking, completely original action adventure, set in a seriously warped fantasy world. Controlling a mysterious figure that has inherited the legacy of the evil, long-dead Overlord, the player emerges, near death, from the ruins of the old Overlord’s Dark Tower.

9. DiRT: Colin McRae Off-Road

We know you like racing games, and Colin McRae: DIRT is the most diverse and exhilarating off-road racing experience ever with sensational gravel, mud and dirt events the world over. The visuals are top-notch, and the thrill of racing with others adds a new dimension to the experience. It's not a perfect game, but this year it was the best racing game.

10. Hellgate: London

Hellgate: London is the first original title from premier developer Flagship Studios, whose team hails from such blockbusters as the Diablo, StarCraft, and WarCraft series. It received very bad reviews, and when it was released it had several bugs. However its release was an event, and this game was able to build a great community. Besides, the developers are working on it and they release a new patch every month, that's why we decided to put in the list of best 10 games.
